Another bear and a few purses.
Slowly but surely building up inventory. Now I have to turn to clothing for a while, and get a few medieval things done... and a baby thing or two. Too many things to do, no enough time!

I feel great!
It has been a weekend of work, but the kind of work I can't get enough of! I like the results! I morphed a copyright free pic, made it black and white, and then used freehand embroidery to emphasize the shapes, and then painted one pod and stem. Last, I used gel medium to attach a silk transfer to complete the visual triangle. The second piece is a large welting cord purse. I used 12/32" cord, covered with a black and white batik and sewn with red Fun Fur. The glass bauble helps emphasize the black banding. Ah, the third piece! I took Hamish and Katey (my stuffie kitties) in to work
, and I have been missing their funny faces, so.... meet Fiona, a little brown bunny. She is made out of a pair of angora slacks a friend gave me. I am still working on a hedgehog! All in all, this has been a great weekend. I need more like this!

New Year, new ideas

What a strange Christmas it has been. I had migraines before, the flu (yes I had my flu shot) for a week right at Christmas, and migraines after. Maybe I am done now. These were done as gifts, so I finished them during that weird period. The purse and cat are made from the same sweater, the cat is going to a cutie little boy about 18 months old. I got the new Somerset mag on soft toys (Stuffies? Softies? Drat, can't remember) and had this kitty rattling around for days in my head. I think he won't be the last I do! I haven't made things like this before, so I am still discovering how to do them. Of course the first consideration for Ze'ev's toy was safety...but aside from that, do I want it bottom weighted? Standable? I don't think so. I think the safety aspect outweighs the asthetics in this. The purse was for a friend... hope she likes it. It is fun to do stuff like these, the felt is so easy to work with and the patterns are simple and cleancut, they are just a joy.
