For this I used a transparency, and painted the back. Although I didn't quite get the skin part evenly colored, I think the technique has alot of possibility! Add in papers aged with Ranger's distress ink pads and some gesso and I couldn't miss!
Actually, I like how the skin is depicted...the many layers in this artwork give an overall ethereal feeling which goes very well with the subject matter.

This turned out great. I just got some ink jet transparency today so I'm going to give this a try later this week. Love your results.
